AIRMATE-8
We created the Airmate-8 to meet the demands of a high-quality radio production mixer. This console is a reliable workhorse for self-operated production DJs who require an internal two Telephone Hybrid and USB connection to the PC (for streaming to the web), and the option of a VoIP or Bluetooth channel and an AES output.
The Airmate-8 is built with a heavy-duty 19" rack-mounted RF shielded chassis and has 8 vertical triple input modules that offer flexibility rarely found in a mixer of this type.

The Airmate-8 unit offers six input channels with balanced microphone inputs on XLR and two stereo line level inputs on Cinch (RCA) connectors. Each microphone input has an insert for signal processors.
Additionally, each line level input B can be converted into a phono channel by installing an optional stereo R.I.A.A. equalized phono pre-amp. Furthermore, the Airmate-8 unit is compatible with our Studio Remote unit, allowing for seamless integration and expanded functionality.

The Airmate-8 model is equipped with 6 balanced mic inputs that come with +48 phantom and an insert.
It also has 12 stereo line inputs, 2 USB and two Telephone Hybrids. Channels 5 and 6 have Mic/Line and USB interface that enables the transfer of audio to and from your PC.
Channels 7 and 8 come with RJ-11 connectors that allow you to interface with an old-fashioned POT and a Telephone appliance so that you can dial the number you want to reach.
The built-in Hybrids in the Airmate-8 model are of high quality, and the Hybrid channels have direct connection and Talkback buttons that make it easy for you to converse with your listeners.
The Telco Send (level to the caller) and Telco Gain (level coming from the caller) can be easily adjusted, and you can also choose the option to include VoIP or Bluetooth on channels 7 and 8.
The Airmate-8 model features Fader start that can be activated from the ON switch or FADER. Fader start also switches on ON-AIR lights.
There is a 3-band Equalizer on channel 1-6, and the stereo Aux send can be set pre or post-fader. All mic inputs come with low cut jumpers. Additionally, a clean feed send is available for external analog and digital Hybrids.

The Airmate-8 comes with two USB connectors on the back panel, which allow you to control your USB channels through your computer.
Once you connect the unit to your computer, it will appear as a new USB device.

Moreover, you can choose to include VoIP or Bluetooth channel(s) in the Airmate-8 instead of the standard POT channels. If you opt for this configuration, you will get a USB connector in place of the RJ11, which enables you to connect your VoIP channel to your computer using any VoIP software.
All input and output connections are available on standard Jack / Cinch and XLR connectors.

AES-EBU
It is possible to order digital outputs for your Airmate-8.
The master AES/EBU XLRs can be used as your digital input and output to enable full digital transmission to the transmitter or other broadcast devices connected to the Airmate-8. The back panel of the master device has two 3-pin male XLR connectors that usually provide ground-compensated balanced analog outputs for the main program stereo signal.
However, these can now be converted into a balanced digital AES/EBU standardized output signal (XLR male).
As an added bonus, the second XLR (female) can be used to accept digital AES/EBU signals.
The analog audio signal is always available on the two jacks located above the left digital XLR output.
RIAA Pre-Amp
It is possible to add a RIAA pre-amp board to all six balanced Mic Input channels (channel 1-6) on your Airmate-8 unit.
This feature will allow you to connect an old-fashioned record player to the mixer and bring back the good old times on a new day piece of broadcast equipment.

Before production of the mixer, it is important to know that this option cannot be added later as the mixer requires different master and telco boards.
VoIP
We offer dedicated VoIP channels for the Airmate-8 on channels 7 and 8, or you can combine one TELCO module with one VoIP module.
If you choose to include a VoIP channel, you will receive a USB connector in place of the RJ11.
This will allow you to connect your VoIP channel to your computer and use it with any VoIP software available.
Thanks to the USB connection on the back of the VoIP board, you can also use this channel as a normal USB channel.
This means that you can have a maximum of 4 USB channels in total on your Airmate.
If you prefer to use a classic analogue or digital Hybrid, we have designed a cleanfeed output on pins 1-4 of the RJ11 connector.
You can return the Hybrid signal on the line input of the VoIP module.
You can add this option to your mixer at a later time by purchasing the VoIP board from our webshop.
Bluetooth
It is possible to select a Bluetooth Hybrid module with a line input on Input modules 7 and/or 8.
This Telephone Hybrid Bluetooth V5.0 circuit offers high-quality connectivity to a Bluetooth device, allowing you to accept Bluetooth calls and play/pause music directly on your Airmate-8 console.
On the back of each Bluetooth Hybrid/Line channel on the Airmate-8 unit (channels 7 and 8), you will find three connectors for the Bluetooth-Hybrid/Line modules, as well as two unbalanced stereo line RCA Cinch connectors for connecting CD players, iPods, or any other line-level equipment.
If you wish to add this option to your mixer at a later time, you can purchase the Bluetooth board directly from our webshop.

The Airmate-8 is equipped with standard stereo faders, stereo Aux send and return, monitor master with "follow phones" and a phones output with split control function.
It also has a balance control that allows for continuous adjustment of the volume between the main output and stereo Cue signal.
Furthermore, it boasts a unique Radio On-air/production section that includes the following features:

- Self-op switching that automatically cuts control room level when the D.J. mic is active.
- A Clean feed output that can drive an external Telephone Hybrid for talk shows and interviews,
in case you require more Hybrid channels than the two built-in ones.
- A special announcer output that usually follows the main output but can be switched so that the main output,
or any cue signal that is selected, can be heard when in the "follow phones" mode.
A large Talkback switch activates the built-in electret talkback microphone, allowing for easy communication with the Clean-feed output, Aux output, and/or Announcer output.
